The Lake

I love doing photos near lakes and rivers. The lighting is gorgeous with all the reflections and glimmers that come off the water. I took some of my photo girls to different lakes and streams during their sessions to try and capture the beauty of nature in their portraits. I love how Hannah's turned out very rich and warm since she has such a loving and kind soul. The colors really captured the glow of her spirit.

Shannah, also, had a great session. The greens and vibrant colors were a lot of fun to work with. I did her sister Kristen's photos at the same location about 3 years ago. I loved that the two girls had such similar themes since they both love nature and whimsical scenery.

Thanks Hannah and Shannah!

The Guy Photo Shoot

Guy photo shoots are always different. Some guys could care less and some are more excited about the photos than the girls. This shoot with Zach was right in the middle. His mom and I had so much fun telling him to climb up in trees and up random ladders or tromp through the woods to the perfect spot. He was a great sport and laughed a lot at our silliness.

We did some stuff with his dogs which I LOVED! They were so cute and sweet. I could tell they were a very important part of Zach's life so I am glad we could include them in the shoot.
This next photo has a little story. Zach's car had been passed down to him from his brother who had recieved it from his mom, and the whole family loved it. Unfortunately, it died and the tow truck was coming to take it away the next day. Zach was very attached so we got some fun shots with him and his car before it was towed away.

I like this last one a lot. It describes Zach, from what I've seen of him. He's very chill and enjoys the outdoors.
Thanks Zach!

Country Girl

I had so much fun doing this photo shoot. I adore nature but I'm not really a country girl so when Elizabeth asked me to do her shoot I was a bit nervous. We had a blast though. Her friend Bob brought out his old truck and we took it to a nature park. Elizabeth's fun spirit and the wonderful themes we had going made the photos turn out great!

We also went to the quaint downtown area of Lee's Summit to do some more photos

Elizabeth aspires to be a paramedic so we got some shots at the emergency dispatch center and had a little fun with the fire trucks too.
Thanks Elizabeth!

The Sunflower Girls

Sunflowers are a favorite this year! I had three sunflower photoshoots with three lovely girls. I've done sunflowers before in years past but this year they were a must have in senior photos. It was so much fun working with these girls and finding fun new ways to show their personalities and how they each individually loved nature.

Sunflowers are very seasonal. If you don't catch them on the right week their heads may have fallen the next week. If you want large sunflowers, look up what week in August is the best time to catch them while they are bright and beautiful. My girls were a little late in scheduling to get the giant sunflowers so we used these wild sunflowers. They are just as beautiful and dainty. I think it worked wonderfully, especially since the smaller sunflowers stay pretty later into the summer, early autumn.

I hope you enjoy these lovely shots!
